Lake Stymphalia

You will admire the mountain lake “Stymphalia,” which is located at an altitude of 680 m (2231 ft.) and is encircled by the mountain of “Kyllini”—better known as “Ziria”—and “Oligyrtos.” The area belongs to the European Network of Protected Areas NATURA 2000, and it is a paradise for birdwatching and nature walks.
Lake Stymphalia is also connected with the sixth labor of Hercules, when he faced down the Stymphalian birds. However, no labors are required of you as you take in the surrounding slopes scattered with picturesque small villages with stone fountains and running waters.
