About 25 km (15.5 miles) west of Lake Stymphalia, in the municipality of Feneos and at an altitude of 900 m (2953 ft.), you will find a small and beautiful artificial body of water: Lake Doxa. Its construction was completed in the late 1990s. At the center of the lake is the chapel of Agios Fanourios, a saint whose feast day is celebrated on August 27th. The incomparably beautiful natural landscape around Lake Doxa resembles Alpine landscapes, with tall mountains and sparkling lakes. More specifically, three remarkably high mountain peaks dominate the sky: Kyllini (or Ziria) with an altitude of 2374 m (7789 ft.), the Aroania mountains (Chelmos) with an altitude of 2355 m (7726 ft.) and the Pentelia mountains (or Durduvana, a Slavic place name meaning rosebush) at an altitude of 2109 m (6619 ft.).
